Description:
Our client is a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta - Canada, that develops and operates natural gas pipelines, storage facilities and power-generation plants, with focus on renewable energy sources.

Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Manager, Brand, Web & Creative, the successful candidate will:
• Design and build engaging, mobile-responsive website layouts and user interfaces that provide an optimal user experience
• Collaborate with other teams to translate ideas and concepts into cohesive and functional web experiences
• Create wireframes, mockups, and prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas and solutions
• Ensure designs adhere to best practices in web usability, accessibility, and cross-browser/device compatibility
• Optimize web pages for performance, speed, and search engine visibility
• Participate in client presentations and design reviews to gather feedback and incorporate iterations
• Assist in the maintenance and updates of existing client websites as needed
• Stay up-to-date with the latest web design trends, technologies, and industry standards

Minimum Qualifications:
• A strong portfolio that clearly demonstrates the necessary skills for the role
• 3-5 years of professional experience as a Web Designer or UI/UX Designer
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for responsive web design
• Expertise in using design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, XD) and Figma
• Strong understanding of web design principles, user experience best practices, and cross-browser compatibility
• Extensive experience with content management systems (Optimizely, Webflow, SiteCore and/or Adobe Experience Manager preferred)
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with animation and motion design for the web
• Familiarity with web development frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) best practices
• Knowledge of web accessibility standards and guidelines
