The ultra-Deepwater offshore Koambo Project is located off the Angolan coast, 260km from the capital Luanda.
The $16bn investment decision was made in April 2014.
Oil deposits being developed are spread across six fields in the south-east of Block 32: Louro, Caril, Gengibre, Mostarda, Canela, Gindungo.
The site has a total of 660 million barrels reserve, and the estimated oil production capacity for the site is 230,000 barrels a day, with first oil expected in 2017.
59 subsea wells will be created and 300km of subsea pipelines at depths of 1,400 - 2,000 meters will connect to two FPSO (Floating, Production, Storage, and Offloading) units, which are being created by converting existing large crude carriers
