The Khazzan field is a natural gas field located in the desert 350km south of Muscat.
The project began in 2014 and is expected to contribute roughly 33% of Oman’s total gas supply from a total of 300 wells. In late September 2017 production had started ahead of schedule at Khazzan.
In November 2016 a new agreement was signed extending the development of the field by around 1,000km2 allowing the second phase of development, which is due to start producing in 2020.
NES Global Talent and Khazzan
NES currently has over 100 contractors in the Khazzan field and has supported through the drilling, wellheads and well site engineering and construction phase, which is now complete. We are currently supporting the project through commissioning and startup, with first gas anticipated at the end of Q3 2017 and will continue to support as the site becomes operational.
NES will continue to support the Khazzan project during phase two of the project, which has been named Ghazeer.
