Mozambique is set to be one of the largest natural gas hubs in the world and is in a good position to supply various LNG customers around the globe, especially in the ever growing Asian market.
The natural gas-rich Area 4 block in Mozambique is one of the world’s largest liquefied natural gas projects in the world and will include floating LNG and upstream projects, as well as liquefaction facilities on-shore. Tens of billions of dollars are expected to be invested in the project in the coming years.
The block itself contains roughly 85 trillion cubic feet (2,400 billion cubic meters) of gas, big enough to supply Germany, Britain, France and Italy with gas for nearly two decades.
