ExxonMobil PNG LNG II project is an integrated development that is commercialising the gas resources of Papua New Guinea, producing over 8 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) each year for major customers in the Asia region.
The production operations include gas production and processing facilities, onshore and offshore pipelines and liquefaction facilities.
The site commenced operations in the middle of 2014 and in 2017 produced 8.3 million tonnes of LNG an increase of 20 percent from the original design specification of 6.9 million tonnes per annum (MTA).
This project has also involved ExxonMobil working closely with local communities across a wide range of economic and social programs to transform the lives of Papua New Guineans.
