Tapis is an enhanced oil recovery (EOR) project based offshore the Terengganu region in Malaysia.
The project is Malaysia's first enhanced oil recovery project and is one of the largest EOR projects in Southeast Asia, with investments totaling around $2.5bn.
The Tapis Project utilises an immiscible water-alternating-gas process to recover reserves from the Tapis field. The process involves water injection and gas injection being carried out alternately for periods of time to provide better sweeping efficiency.
The main platform is the Tapis R central processing platform, which includes living quarters for 145 people and is equipped with compression capacity for 390 million cubic feet per day of gas and water injection capability of 270,000 barrels per day.
