The Piping Designer II will be responsible for developing and modifying piping designs and models to support planning, fabrication, and construction activities for industrial projects. This role requires proficiency in piping design software, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform field verification to ensure accuracy of as-built conditions. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in piping design and modeling, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and update piping layouts, isometrics, and detailed drawings using CADWorx or equivalent piping design software.
  • Learn and utilize Plant 3D design programs for project execution.
  • Perform field job walks to verify as-found conditions and gather accurate measurements for design updates.
  • Develop and maintain 3D models and 2D drawings to support planning, fabrication, and installation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to resolve design issues and optimize layouts.
  • Prepare material take-offs and assist in estimating piping quantities for procurement and construction.
  • Review vendor drawings and integrate them into project models as required.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and revision control throughout the design process.
  • Support construction and commissioning teams by providing updated drawings and technical assistance.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience: Greater than 20 years of experience in piping design and modeling for industrial projects.
  • Software Proficiency: CADWorx or equivalent piping design programs; ability to learn Plant 3D.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of piping systems, codes, and standards (ASME, API).
  • Field Experience: Ability to conduct site visits and verify existing conditions accurately.
  • Communication: Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills; ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy in drawings and models to prevent design errors.
