Reliability Engineer – Mobile & Fixed Plant
Roster: 8/6 FIFO
Contract: 6 months (starting early January) with potential conversion to FTE
Rate: $80–$100/hr + super
We’re seeking a Reliability Engineer to join a junior gold mining operation, working across a 50/50 split of Mobile Equipment and Fixed Plant assets. This is a hands-on role focused on minimizing downtime, developing robust maintenance strategies, and supporting both mobile and fixed plant reliability initiatives. This is a great opportunity for someone earlier in their career to further develop their skills across fixed-and-mobile plant as well as the cahnce to work with some strong reliability leaders.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM) strategies.
- Analyse and report on equipment performance, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Collaborate with maintenance and operations teams to resolve reliability issues and concerns.
- Monitor predictive maintenance programs for optimal performance.
- Provide technical support to the maintenance team as required.
- Ensure engineering processes are followed in decision-making to minimize risk.
- Set up MEM strategies for new HME, as it comes.
Ideal Candidate
- Tertiary qualifications in engineering
- You will have balanced experience across MEM and Fixed Plant, ideally with recent HME/MEM experience.
- Understanding and familiarity with Cat, Komatsu, Hitachi, Volvo, XEMG
- Experience working on fixed plant assets (If you're stronger on HME, that's fine!)
- Ability to establish strategies for new mobile fleet and support upcoming fixed plant projects (crushing, milling, conveyors, wet plant).
- Hungry to grow – not looking for a senior, but someone ready to take ownership and progress.
