We are seeking an Engineering Technician to join our team and support explosive testing operations for the oil and gas industry. This role involves hands-on work with explosive materials and associated hardware to achieve specific test objectives. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn specialized skills.
  Key Responsibilities
  • Safely prepare, handle, and detonate explosives in accordance with strict safety protocols.
  • Conduct full-scale explosive testing (not laboratory-based).
  • Maintain accurate and compliant explosive record keeping (regulated by ATF).
  • Collect and document test data for analysis and reporting.
  • Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, cranes, and pressure systems.
  • Perform metal fabrication tasks:
    • Metal arc welding
    • Cutting torch operations
    • Plasma cutting
    • Maintain facilities and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
    • Observe and enforce all safety practices, wear PPE, and report hazards immediately.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

    Qualifications Education:
    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    Experience:
    • Experience working with explosives preferred (military background is a plus).
    • Prior experience in metal fabrication is desirable.
    • Open to candidates from military, manufacturing, or other transferable industries.
    • No minimum years of experience required—training provided.
    Skills & Abilities:
    • Basic Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel).
    • Ability to use common hand and pneumatic tools.
    • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
    • Physically capable of performing demanding tasks.
    Training & Development
    • Extensive on-site training provided (minimum 6 months).
    • Full proficiency may take over a year.
    • Includes internal crane training and ATF background check.
      Work Environment
    • On-site at Rosharon, TX.
    • PPE provided: FR coveralls, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, hard hat.
    • Casual dress allowed under PPE.
    • Two-person operations only—no solo work for safety reasons.
    Schedule & Travel
    • Typical schedule: Monday–Thursday (9 hours), Friday (half-day).
    • Approximate hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.
    • Minimal overtime.
    • Travel: ~10%, mostly local; occasional out-of-town trips (volunteer-based).
    Compensation
    • Pay Rate: $28–$32 per hour.
    • Reimbursable expenses: mileage, hotel, and meals for occasional travel (within reason).
    • No per diem.
    Safety & Compliance
    • Strict adherence to explosives safety protocols and ATF regulations.
    • Explosive record keeping is a legal responsibility.
    • Mandatory PPE and compliance with all safety rules.
