Our valued client is seeking 3rd Class Power Engineer for a 6 month to 1 year contract near Lac La Biche, AB. This is an 8/6 shift, working 12 hours per day (days and nights). Flights and camp are available.
The Opportunity:
As a 3rd Class Power Engineer, you will interact and coordinate within the operations team to ensure that the process operates in a safe and environmentally friendly manner. Your guidance, initiative, expertise, drive for continuous improvement will contribute to safe and reliable production in the facility and field.

The Opportunity:

Key Accountabilities:
- Utilize your operations expertise in a dynamic production environment
- Work with the operations team to support initiatives and projects that optimize facility run-time, safety, energy savings and overall cost reduction
- Adhere to and engage in safety protocols
- Lockout/tag-out of facility and field equipment. Collaborate with other teams to execute maintenance and turnaround work in a safe and timely manner
- Respond to emergencies within the facility and field
- Issuance of Hazard Assessments, maintain proper documentation, including operating logs, maintenance records and safety & environmental reports
- Train team members to develop in other areas of the facility and field
- Third Class Power Engineering certificate with ABSA is required, Fourth Class Power Engineers may be considered if significant progress is made on Third Class
- 5 years of related industry experience
- Knowledge of:
- Oil treatment and produced water de-oiling
- Vapor compression evaporators
- High pressure drum boilers
- High pressure sweet gas and sour gas handling
- Facility utility systems and processes
- Salt cavern operation, offsite disposal pipeline and well operation
- Field experience with pads, pipelines, ESP’s and Rod Pumps
- Expertise in pdf software such as Adobe and Bluebeam
- Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Formidable experience in SOP writing for the Oil and Gas industry
- Competent in interpreting P&ID’s; Capable of using model review software (Navisworks).
- Background as a mentor/trainer, with familiarity with applicable OHS, Environmental, and Pressure Equipment regulations and codes.
