Pay Rate: £15.64 plus hols
Duration: 12 months
Location: Kintore
Hybrid working - 3 days office, 2 days home - not set days
Hours: 37.5hrs/week - Mon - Thu 08.30-17.00, Fri 08.30 to 15.45 - 45 mins lunch
As an Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of financial information. You will be working to tight deadlines and will maintain appropriate financial controls.
You will work as part of a team supporting the ledgers within the business segment. This will include responsibility for the accurate and timely reporting of financials information for pre-assigned ledgers and reporting on a quarterly basis. You will also be expected to actively support the Ledger Controller in the team with their reporting responsibilities.
You should be a detail-oriented person and keen to take on fresh challenges. This role will provide many opportunities to develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge of NOV systems and policies.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial information for the pre-assigned ledgers, including intercompany, fixed assets and banking
- Support the Ledger Controller, this will include, amongst other activities, balance sheet reconciliations, aging analysis, reporting and variance analysis
- Ensure the ledgers are in compliance with accounting regulations, company policies and reporting requirements
- Liaise with internal and external audit teams to support audit requirements
- Prepare monthly VAT reconciliations for review and submission
- Actively look to automate and streamline processes within the roles area of responsibility
- Performs any other job duties as assigned appropriately by UK Finance Controller and Ledger Controller
- Comply with and promote all company and HSE policies and procedures.

- Part-qualified ICAEW/ICAS/CIMA/ACCA

- Previous experience working with non-finance people

- Previous experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment
Skills, training or special knowledge:
Essential:
- Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook)
- ERP Systems knowledge
