Job Title: Auditor (Specialist)
Location: Calgary, AB
Schedule: M-F 8 hrs/day
Contract length: 7 months (Oct 2, 2023 – April 30, 2024)
Anticipated Start date: Oct 2, 2023

Description:
As a member of the Corporate Accounting team, this individual will have the opportunity to gain broad knowledge of the Corporate Accounting function with the responsibility for consolidated corporate reporting. We are seeking a Senior Accountant who has proven experience supporting the preparation of accurate financial information with keen attention to detail. The successful candidate will work closely with other members of the team.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Compile and prepare monthly variance report for Corporate EBIT, financial charges, interest income and Foreign Exchange
• Review monthly variance analysis working papers
• Draft accurate and timely variance analysis for monthly Financial Performance Report and quarterly Variance Pages
• Monthly accounting for share capital and corporate accounting entries for certain legal entities
• Preparation of MD&A and Financial Statement Notes for share capital
• Monthly review of bank reconciliation report
• Intercompany/Inter-affiliate settlements
• Liaise with business unit accountants and managers for legal entity financial statements and balance sheet analysis master list
• Miscellaneous ad hoc projects, requests for information and analysis as required.

Minimum Qualifications
• Professional accounting designation (CPA)
• 6 years of progressive, related experience
• Undergraduate degree in commerce/business or related discipline
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills combined with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective written and verbal communication to all levels of the organization
• Proven team player with the ability to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships

Preferred Qualifications
• Knowledge of consolidation accounting, financial statement presentation and generally accepted accounting principles
• Familiarity with SAP (ECC and BPC)
