Automation Project Delivery Engineer

Location: Adelaide, South Australia
Competitive salary + Relocation Package + Client is offering Visa support if necessary

NES Fircroft is supporting our power and electrical engineering client to recruit across Australia and internationally for experienced automation engineers to join their growing team. 

Core Responsibilities
• Prepare preliminary or detailed design, options analysis/risk assessments, scope and specifications of Substation Automation Systems
• Perform engineering design review and validation including commissioning witnessing of Substation Automation Systems
• Support development and maintenance of Substation Automation System standards including equipment evaluation
• Support integration of substation IEDs into the Substation Automation System and remote engineering access

Essential/ Mandatory Requirements / Skills
• Knowledge of SCADA/Substation Automation Systems and Architecture, construction and commissioning
• Knowledge of DNP3 and IEC 61850 substation network communication standards
• Knowledge of system interfaces to SCADA Master Station, Protection IEDs, Telecommunication, remote engineering access, condition monitoring equipment and National Grid Metering
• Knowledge of existing electricity industry legacy Substation SCADA RTUs and Control System equipment and design
• Knowledge of Substation SCADA database structure and use
• Knowledge of Substation Metering and circuitry design
• Knowledge of HMI and EMS
• Knowledge of Voltage Regulation, Auto-Reclose and Synchronising Schemes
• Basic knowledge of Protection Design and Substation Infrastructure Engineering
• Ability to produce automation and control device (IED) settings and configuration files

Desirable / Transferable Skills
• Minimum 5 years’ experience, in Substation Automation related role
• Electricity Industry background an advantage
