My client’s Energy Storage Research & Development group is rapidly expanding, and they are seeking a skilled Battery Analytical Technician to join their team in Kings Mountain, NC. As the selected candidate, you will work alongside a vibrant and energetic team of experts who are passionate about driving positive change in the world. As a part of your responsibilities in this role, you will prepare materials for characterization and operate a wide range of the cutting-edge analytical equipment. Your proficiency in selecting or developing suitable analytical techniques and interpreting data obtained from them will also be required. The ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across multiple groups is a must. Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a safe and clean laboratory environment, following standard operating procedures and adhering to corporate HS&E policies
  • Sampling and testing of materials: This includes collecting samples from various projects, preparing them for analyses (ICP-OES, GC-MS, TGA, and SEM) to determine their composition and quality
  • Collaborate with a broad technical team to meet timebound technical milestones and deliverables
  • Effectively communicate characterization results to the materials development team
  • Document experiments, observations, and results clearly in both written and electronic formats
  • Responsible for implementing safe procedures for the handling and disposal of hazardous waste and materials
  • Responsible for ensuring that analytical equipment is properly calibrated and maintained to ensure accurate results
  • Proactively share data and collaborate to achieve optimal outcomes
  • Communicate clearly and proactively in formal and informal settings
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific or engineering discipline
  • At least one year of experience in a laboratory setting handling chemicals and equipment
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience in conducting Lab Safety Audits prior to conducting experiments or operating equipment
  • Good interpersonal skills and takes on new opportunities with enthusiasm
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively
  • Communicates effectively by providing timely information on projects and testing
  • Basic computer skills, especially with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain records/documents such as lab notebooks and/or instrument logs
  • Must be able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have good dexterity & maintain focus on tasks

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to physically operate all equipment and instruments within the lab
  • Must have dexterity to handle small, delicate analytical lab equipment
  • Must be able to work in a chemical laboratory, which requires standing for 70% or more of the time
  • Able to lift and carry up to 40 lbs
