Job Requirements: Technology Business Analyst / Business Intelligence Analyst
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Technology Business Analyst/Business Intelligence Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in SQL and Power BI, along with a proven track record in stakeholder engagement, data projects, and Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will be tasked with creating documentation for data requirements and process mapping, reviewing SQL syntax and programming, developing visualizations, conducting data quality testing, and actively engaging with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitate proactive discussions with stakeholders, conduct data profiling, analyze documentation thoroughly and perform research to gather and refine business requirements, and accurately capture relevant data field definitions for data projects.
  • Create comprehensive process mapping and data flow diagrams to enhance project clarity.
  • Additionally, conduct detailed reviews of existing views, stored procedures, and packages to identify optimal data sources for documentation of data requirements.
  • Develop the necessary database objects, such as views, tables, and stored procedures, required for reporting and analytics using SQL.
  • Develop Power BI solutions, including data modeling, design, development, and testing of visualizations. Proficient in troubleshooting, report performance tuning, and documenting results.
  • Perform data quality testing to ensure accuracy and reliability of data sets.
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement to ensure efficient data processing and accurate reporting.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams in Agile project environments to deliver high-quality solutions.

Requirements:
  • Proven track record with 3-10 years of experience as a Technology Business Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst.
  • Must have: demonstrated expertise in SQL programming, involving thorough reviews of existing views, stored procedures, and packages for the purpose of documentation and code redevelopment.
  • Must have: excellent experience in data profiling and leading discussions with stakeholders to create data field definitions in a manner that is easily understandable to individuals with limited knowledge or experience in the subject, while capturing data flow, business processes, any business rules, and data quality issues.
  • Proficiency in effectively managing and analyzing large datasets sourced from diverse data repositories within enterprise environment
  • Experience in developing and testing Power BI solutions, coupled with proficiency in troubleshooting, report performance tuning, and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills enable accurate and reliable data quality testing, process optimization for efficient data processing, and the provision of valuable business insights.
  • Comfortable and adaptable in navigating ambiguous tasks and environments, demonstrating a proactive approach towards problem-solving and decision-making, capable of working independently with minimal guidance
  • Demonstrated continuous learning mindset, keeping up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in data analytics.
  • Nice to have: oil and gas experience, WellView and SiteView familiarity, and Microsoft Azure.
