NES Fircroft are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst. This position is with our client, who are an Irish transmission and distribution company, paving the way to a net-zero future.

Job Title: Pricing Analyst (Industrial and Commercial)
Hours of working: 8:30 – 16:45

Position Description

This role will be on the Business Pricing team, who are responsible for providing innovative, competitive and accurate pricing solutions for Gas and Electricity Products for the entire Business Market on the island of Ireland. The Business Pricing Team has experienced significant change over the last 12 months with new processes and products being implemented to respond the risks associated with the volatile energy market. Further work is required on building new products, embedding processes and ensuring robust controls are operating to manage the associated operational and financial risks.

The Business Pricing Team now require a Business Analyst with strong programming experience to support both the Electricity and Gas team leaders, over the next 12 months. In this role you'll have a varied remit with a core focus on interrogating, documenting and improving our critical processes. The analyst will need good initiative, analytical skills and ability to think through problems and apply considered judgement. The analyst should have excellent business process modelling skills, with the ability to understand systems and data. Indepth experience of SQL and VBA is essential. The Analyst should have experience with structured problem-solving methodologies, which could be applied to our current operational processes. The Analyst will need enthusiasm, an open mind and some energy market experience to meet the numerous challenges which will present in this role. As this area is experiencing high demand an ability to interrogate relational database/ stored procedures independently is essential.

Key Responsibilities

The Analyst will be responsible for: 
• Working with Business Pricing Team Leaders and key stakeholders, with minimal to no assistance, in the development, revision, process mapping, process enhancements, implementation and maintenance of procedural documentation from end to end.
• Facilitate process workflow modelling to collaborate on process improvements, automation capabilities and clearly defined end-to-end processes.
• Aid in the development of system improvements from a technical perspective
• Providing advice and recommendations to colleagues on process enhancement and continuous improvement initiatives in all process areas on the Gas and Electricity Teams.
• Provide strategic recommendations regarding process design, documentation development, change management and supporting systems by understanding the business, and associated roles.
• Assist in system change requirements to ensure systems are operating as effectively and efficiently as possible.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Previous SQL and VBA experience
• Experience of working with problem solving methodologies
• Knowledge of continuous improvement (Lean) principles
• Business Process Modelling/Mapping experience   
• Advanced data and system experience
• Previous Visio experience
• Excellent organisation & communications skills, both written and oral 
• Initiative and ability to take ownership of own work through to completion  
• Strong stakeholder management
• The ability to understand core business processes and how they are enabled by related IT systems 
• Attention to detail 
• Relevant Energy Market Experience

Qualifications
Relevant degree desirable but not essential - experience in above would be more a requirement.

Base Location
Dublin 9
The successful candidate may combine remote working with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which will be agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review. Please note that when the successful candidate is required to attend Electric Ireland’s offices above, travel, accommodation, and related expenses will not be reimbursed.
