As the Business Development Executive for the Global Energy Business, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and expanding our presence within the rapidly growing offshore wind industry across Northern Europe. Leveraging your industry expertise, market insights, and strategic acumen, you will spearhead initiatives to identify, assess, and secure business opportunities that drive growth and long-term success in this dynamic sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Assessment: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify key players, emerging trends, regulatory frameworks, and potential market gaps within the offshore wind industry in Northern Europe.
- Business Strategy: Develop and execute a robust business strategy tailored to Northern European markets, encompassing market entry plans, growth objectives, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, investors, and potential clients, to drive collaboration and create mutually beneficial opportunities.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and evaluate potential offshore wind projects, partnerships, acquisitions, and joint ventures, assessing their viability, profitability, and alignment with the company's objectives.
- Negotiations and Deal Structuring: Lead negotiations, contract discussions, and deal structuring efforts to secure advantageous partnerships and agreements, ensuring alignment with the company's financial and strategic goals.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay abreast of evolving industry regulations, permitting requirements, and environmental standards, ensuring that the company's activities remain in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Financial Analysis: Collaborate with finance and investment teams to conduct financial modeling, risk assessments, and ROI analyses to support investment decisions and business case development.
- Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of business development activities, prepare regular progress reports, and communicate key insights to senior management and stakeholders.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Proven track record of at least 10 years in business development, with a focus on the renewable energy or offshore wind sector
- In-depth knowledge of the Northern European offshore wind market, including market dynamics, regulatory landscape, and key industry players
- Strong negotiation, deal-making, and contract management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership abilities
- Strategic thinker with the ability to drive innovative solutions and identify growth opportunities
- Results-oriented with a history of achieving and exceeding business development targets
- Willingness to travel as needed within Northern Europe and internationally
