We are now looking for Buyers and Senior Buyers who wants to join our team at Fornebu.
Our project procurement and logistics management department in Oslo (Fornebu) is now looking for Buyers and Senior Buyers. The buyer position is an opportunity for those early in their career, while the Senior Buyer role is for candidates with more extensive procurement experience. The department handles direct procurement and logistics activities for projects in the segments New Build and New Energies. Typical projects include topsides, floaters, carbon capture and storage facilities, wind turbine foundations and offshore converter stations for wind turbine parks. 

What will you be doing?
In the role as Buyer and Senior Buyer you will normally work on projects as a Package Responsible Buyer (PRB), having the commercial responsibility for a set of procurement packages and reporting to the Project Procurement Manager. The PRB will form a package team together with the Package Responsible Engineer (PRE), and this team will be responsible for the successful execution and completion of the assigned procurement packages. You will:
  • Develop procurement strategies and plans for all assigned packages
  • Sourcing and pre-qualification of potential suppliers
  • Negotiate contracts and purchase orders
  • Follow-up, control and report progress on contracts, including field and desk expediting
  • Develop and maintain supplier relations

We think you should have:
We are particularly looking for candidates with a background in procurement and/or sales of bulk materials (e.g. steel materials, piping, valves, electrical cables, surface protection) or complex equipment packages (e.g. compressors, generators, pumps, electrical switchboards). However, if you have a background in project management and an interest in Supply Chain Management, you are encouraged to apply.
  • Higher education within business and/or engineering, specialization within Supply Chain is a plus. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of a higher education. Graduates are also encouraged to apply
  • The ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing
  • Good commercial skills and ability to understand customer needs
  • A curious mind, eagerness to learn and to take on more tasks/responsibilities
  • A team-player attitude, solutions-oriented mindset and great flexibility
