Job Description:  Coiled Tubing Operator

JOB PURPOSE:  The Coiled Tubing Operator is responsible for driving, operating, and maintaining the Coiled Tubing unit.  For a CT operator it is also expected to have experience in operation of pumping and/or mixing equipment; compressors and other auxiliary equipment related to the use with the Coiled Tubing Unit.

Oman - Multiple Locations

  • Responsible for driving and operating heavier and complex Coiled Tubing Unit
  • Operates and Monitor Coiled Tubing Unit from control cabin, controlling all job parameters such as pressure, flow, RIH speed, and other diagnostic information of equipment during the job execution.
  • Experience with the use of Nitrogen in Coiled Tubing Operations.
  • Performs rigging in / out duties for Pumping Services; contributes to safe rigging operations during and after service delivery.
  • Lifts, carries and moves iron pipes and auxiliary equipment to / from trucks and well site
  • Aligns, assembles, and disassembles iron pieces.
  • Acts as a mentor to Operators in Training and Operator 1 level employees.  Assists in training and provides guidance on safe and effective operating procedures.
  • Maintains Coiled Tubing equipment to Baker Hughes Services standards, and ensures all equipment, including personal protective equipment, is in proper working order.
  • Performs routine maintenance on CT unit and other pumping equipment.
  • Troubleshoots any problems with equipment and ensures damaged or defective parts get repaired.
  • Completes required paperwork and submits it to the appropriate parties accurately and on time (i.e. Critical Well Checklist, fuel log report, timesheets and log books, maintenance reports, month-end expense reports, trip permits, etc).
  • Maintains Baker Hughes Services Safety Standards always: shop, yard, location and while traveling.
  • Reports all hazards or potentially hazardous situations, accidents, incidents and injuries immediately to supervisor.
  • Attends Safety Meetings.
  • All other duties assigned
