Our client a Global Oil and Gas Major Operator in Perth CBD are currently seeking a Contracts Specialist- Wells to join them for a 12-month contract.
The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of drilling and completions contracts and contracting strategies.
You will be part of a team of 4 CP professionals providing CP services to the drilling and completions team for the project.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Implement robust CP strategies to secure third party services and materials in compliance with schedule, quality requirements on competitive/market beating commercial terms.
- Implement detailed prequalification, tendering and negotiating tactics in support of the approved CP strategies ensuring that the implementation fully complements the local content plan and accounts for all market capacity and capability risks and opportunities.
- Ensure that the approved HSE standards and Goal Zero policies are fully incorporated in the process of contractor and supplier selection and in the subsequent work execution phases.
- Structure and manage contracts and agreements in a proactive manner with the objective of minimising claims and disputes.
- Ensure business ethics are maintained to the highest level and ensure compliance with the organisations Statement of General Business Principles.
- Conduct tenders, evaluate bids & drive negotiations with suppliers in accordance to the Category Management, Contracting and Procurement Guide (CMCP) as an overall ‘guidance’ and project governance material.
- Ensure application of the End-2-End CMCP process, using commercial judgement, common sense and a simplification mind-set, understanding the difference between non-negotiable compliance elements (Safety, Ethics and Compliance, Code of Conduct, Law) and CP operating practices, while always keeping enterprise business value in focus.
- Will be expected to work hand in glove with Project CP team members.
- Will be expected to work closely and collaboratively with stakeholders from the Wells functions and the project.
- Minimum of 8 years of CP experience in WA in an oil and gas operator.
- Experience in drilling and completions contracts will be an advantage.
- Proven comprehensive experience within CP, able to demonstrate understanding of commerciality and/or creating value opportunity.
- Deep understanding of CP governance, processes, systems and controls, and the ability to provide leadership across organisational boundaries in regulatory and ethical matters.
- Good level of industry knowledge and understanding of the organizations position in the market and how to maximise competitive advantage.
- High level of commercial acumen, creativity, clarity of communication, and conceptual thinking ability.
- University degree (Business/Engineering) or equivalent, a professional CP accreditation CIPS/ISM/QS is an advantage.
