We are searching for a Cost Engineer for our client, they are a big name in the marine industry and based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
THE POSITION
As a Cost Estimator Asset Management, you will work at our client's tenders for maintenance contracts for wet infrastructure: waterways, coastal and coastal processes, ports, dikes, bridges and locks and pumping stations. Including the associated installations and with a positive impact on biodiversity. Consider, for example, the maintenance of the Afsluitdijk and floodplains of the Rhine branches. You will work from a team of other Cost Estimators specifically for our asset management organization. Our client is a young, enthusiastic and growing organisation within the more than 150-year-old, including Maintenance Engineers, Project Manager, Tender Engineer and Maintenance Specialist. Together, you will work on the further expansion and professionalization of the department.

As a Cost Estimator Asset Management, you will work at Van Oord on tenders for maintenance contracts for wet infrastructure: waterways, coastal and coastal processes, ports, dikes, bridges and locks and pumping stations. You will work from a team of other Cost Estimators specifically for our asset management organization. ABOUT YOU
You are an inquisitive Cost Estimator who would like to specialize in multi-year, multidisciplinary budgets (e.g. also wtb and automation). You like to look further ahead and work methodically and you can handle the time pressure that comes with a tender. You bring knowledge and experience of the operation with you and translate this into good cost estimates. You don't take things at face value and ask critical questions so that you gain more and more insight into asset management. You can make the trade-off between costs and benefits (technology) and have strong analytical and numerical skills. Do you also meet the following job requirements? Your responsibilities
- Preparation of multi-year cost estimates for various tenders and additional work for ongoing projects;
- Collecting relevant information from the Maintenance Engineers, the purchasing department, suppliers, subcontractors and from the implementation;
- Translating this data into budgets with corresponding schedules and work descriptions.

- You have a higher professional education (HBO working and thinking level (through completed education or years of experience) and have a technical background, for example mechanical engineering, aerospace, civil engineering, etc.;
- You have experience as a Calculator/Cost Estimator, which can certainly be outside of asset management;
- You have an affinity with, and are willing to learn about, the preparation of cost estimates for multi-year maintenance contracts;
