My client, a Tier 1 Blue chip company in the energy sector, is striving to meet the growing global demand for safe, sustainable, and affordable energy and as such, plan to become a leading player in offshore wind.
They are looking for a high calibre individual to support their expanding UK offshore wind team on a £1bn+ Windfarm Project off the Coast of the UK.
As the Cost Estimator you will work as part of a multi-disciplinary project team to develop these nationally significant Projects. The role will be remotely based with the requirement to visit the office once a fortnight, this could be either Edinburgh or London.

Role Responsibilities
- Develop / coordinate cost estimates to support the program ranging from individual cost sensitivities / scenarios for work packages managers to yearly master business plan updates and detailed FID Estimates
- Accountable for ensuring all estimates have a clearly documented basis, aligns with the technical scope and execution plan and reflects latest pricing
- Prepare cost estimating plans, basis of estimate, benchmarking and other supporting materials for independent project reviews
- Review and validate contractor-developed cost estimates, ensuring consistency against requirements, prior to integration into the project cost estimate
- Participate in contract tender evaluations and perform cost normalizations
- Evaluate project risks, opportunities and uncertainties and apply appropriate deterministic or probabilistic techniques to inform contingency levels
- Develop internal and external cost benchmarks, use to demonstrate the competitiveness of the project
- Degree or equivalent in Engineering, QS, Project Controls related discipline, or comparable experience
- Extensive experience in cost estimating within Offshore Wind / Renewables / O&G projects
- Experience of work in a multi-project environment and handling several work-fronts consecutively
- Ability to produce quality written reports and summary presentations
- Experience in the preparation, analysis and presentation of capital cost estimates to management and stakeholders
- Experience of working alongside Procurement on bid evaluations
- Knowledge of offshore wind manufacturing, construction and installation methodologies
