Our client, Woodside Energy, is looking for an individual who will be responsible and accountable for providing technical advice, direction, design, and sustainment of Woodside’s Operational Communications services.
This 2 year contract will see this seasoned professional Plan, develop and support communications projects for offshore and onshore businesses

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Monitors and improves quality and productivity of contractors & projects, required to sustain services

- Responsible for ensuring that solutions comply with Woodside IT and Engineering standards
- Responsible for safeguarding the production environment by following Change Control processes and that impacts to Operations is carefully controlled and mitigated
- Ensures that key operational processes are documented, adhered to, reported on, and monitored
- Oversees record management systems and drawings of Woodside’s telecommunications facilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers

Experience
- Seasoned professional whose skills and knowledge have been supplemented by substantial, applicable work experience in a complex and broad scope of telecom apparatus and services definition and delivery
- 10 years in Operational Communications and IT services in the energy industry
- Can be trusted to work alone on projects of a range of sizes and complexity, know what they don’t know, and identify and secure missing specialist skill sets to enable successful delivery
- Can govern service provider delivered projects and assure Woodside requirements are met
- Engineering Integrity Authority level (depending on specific role): Technical Integrity Custodian
- Aware of Process Safety Management processes and able to apply concepts firmly in the leadership of project changes
- Understands principles of Safety Critical Elements in Major Accident Event bow ties and can apply in a practical sense
- Understands how a business learns and improves
- Always behaves in a manner consistent with published Woodside Leadership Expectations, the Code of Conduct, and the Woodside Values
- Contribute to the Health and Safety of the IT and Digital function by following our Golden Safety Rules and being mindful of Health and Safety implications in the work we do

Experience
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in resources, O&G, and energy sector
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Practical exposure to Operational Communications systems and services through integration, construction, or commissioning, of services including drilling comms, transmission networks, VSAT, WAN, LAN, Wi-Fi, structured cabling, UFH/VHF/HF radio, radio consoles, microwave, satellite, CCTV, Public Address & General Alarm, SCADA and monitoring, location intelligence
- Delivered small and medium, multi discipline projects from specification to handover
- Performed responsible roles in construction, integration, site supervision, commissioning, and handover to operations
- Participation in EPC major projects in energy sector
- Delivery of products and services via international supply chains
- Application of Australian and international standards in the delivery of telecom systems
- Adoption of recommendations, and assuring compliance as appropriately guided by relevant notified bodies and Government bodies including ARPANSA, ACMA, AMSA, IALA etc
- Has led continuous improvement changes or processes
- Professional Engineer with an accredited tertiary qualification in electronic / communications engineering or equivalent
- Eligible for membership of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
- Eligible for charter status (CPEng)
- Eligible to be TIC qualified under WEL Process Safety Critical Role Competency procedure
