NES Fircroft is currently recruiting for a Drilling Supervisors (Nights) on behalf of their client based in Dorset.

This role is offered on a 10 Month Ltd Co or PAYE Contract basis.

The Drilling Supervisors will represent the Company in all drilling related activities required to drill, evaluate and complete a well.

The successful candidates will be responsible for the leadership, management and safe execution of the company’s onsite operations in relation to exploration, appraisal, development drilling, completions and workover operations.

The role will include but is not limited to:
  • Developing safety and operational policies and procedures to ensure the competent and efficient management of onsite operations and contractor activity.
  • Auditing of contractor equipment, safety and operational work systems.
  • Management, supervision and execution of company drilling programmes on site.
  • Attending site and office-based safety meetings.
The roles will be based onsite at Wytch Farm reporting directly to the Drilling Superintendent.

During the planning phase the role may be adhoc, once operational the roles will be an equal time rotation of either 2/2 or 3/3 working 12-hour night shifts. There may be the occasional requirement to visit the office.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Ensure the drilling of the well is carried out in an uninterrupted, safe and efficient manner as per the drilling programme.
  • Co-ordination & control of company hired rig and other service contractor's equipment, personnel and services for safe and efficient drilling operations.
  • Planning and mobilising people, equipment and services required for the scheduled drilling program.
  • Ensure that all personnel work in a safe, efficient and professional manner.
  • Co-ordinating with management on daily progress and ensuring compliance with scheduled deadlines.
  • Interfacing with the supply bases and internal logistics team.
  • Day to day liaison with Drilling Superintendent and Logistics Coordinator at the office, with regards to material and personnel movement requirements.
  • Achieving a smooth, safe and incident free operation on the rig.
  • Preparation of DDR (Daily Drilling Report), look ahead planner and chemical tracking.
  • Checking and maintaining records of job ticket prepared by third party vendors for invoicing.
  • Assisting with draft preparation of the EOWR, capture and application of lessons learned.
Safety & Environmentally Critical Courses:
  • IWCF Level 4 Drilling surface and subsea combined.
  • MIST
  • BOSIET
  • Valid offshore medical.
Key Requirements Include:

Qualifications / Experience:
  • At least 10 years oilfield drilling experience with both engineering and operational roles.
  • Extensive onshore drilling experience.
  • Extensive experience of onshore UK drilling desired but not wholly critical.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with a proven track record on a number of drilling projects
  • At least 5 years as a Senior Drilling Supervisor.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • IWCF Level 4 combined.
  • Valid Driving Licence
