Overview:
The Electrical Engineering Specialist is responsible for ensuring safe and reliable operation of industrial electrical systems across multiple Oil & Gas facilities. This role involves planning, executing, and leading preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs for electrical distribution equipment. The position requires independent technical decision-making and hands-on troubleshooting in the field.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and troubleshoot industrial electrical distribution systems, including:
– Substations, breakers, switchgear, MCCs, protective relays, battery & UPS systems, transformers (up to 138kV)
– Induction and synchronous motors up to 40,000 hp and 15,000 volts
• Plan, schedule, and lead:
– Preventive & corrective maintenance activities
– Predictive maintenance programs (IR Thermography, Transformer Oil Analysis, Partial Discharge Analysis, Power Quality Analysis)
• Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
• Provide technical guidance to plant or contract personnel
Education & Experience Requirements
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering/Technology OR Journeyman Electrician license
• 5+ years of experience with medium-voltage (5kV–15kV) electrical systems in industrial environments
• Strong troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial electrical systems
• Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance practices
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and communicate effectively
• Proficiency in MS Office and standard software
• Expertise in installation, troubleshooting, and repair of medium-voltage systems
• Familiarity with CMMS systems (e.g., Infor EAM)
• Understanding of regulatory standards/codes and control/instrumentation systems
