Job Title: Electrical Technician (Intermediate)
Location: Cranbrook BC, and Crowsnest Pass, AB
Length: 12 Month Contract with possible extension.
Rotation: Mon-Fri 40hrs week


Description: 
We are currently seeking an Electrical Instrumentation & Controls (EIC) Technician to join our Canada Gas Operations Glacier Valley Area team, based in Cranbrook BC, and Crowsnest Pass, AB. EIC Controls Technicians repair, install, troubleshoot, and perform other planned maintenance and corrective tasks on assigned electronic, electrical, pneumatic and/or mechanical control systems, devices, and ancillary equipment.

Reporting to the Area Manager (Glacier Valley) this EIC Controls Technician will operate and maintain natural gas compression and auxiliary equipment including but not limited to gas turbines, generators, boilers, fuel gas compressors, and PLC & DCS control systems in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. In this role, you may also be required to perform tasks from other disciplines.

Minimum Qualifications 
•    Completion of third year of trades program or two years of technical training 
•    2 years of related Industry experience 
•    Proven excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications 
•    Journeyperson Electrician or Instrumentation Technician Certification 
•    Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and SAP experience 
•    Previous experience with high pressure natural gas 
•    Current with technological advances in the compression field

This position requires candidates to: 
•    Have and maintain a valid driver's license and provide a driver's abstract for review
•    Successfully complete a pre-employment medical screening, including drug and alcohol testing
•    Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, meetings, or training which would involve some overnight stays away from home (estimated up 30% of work schedule)
•    Be part of an on-call rotation and provide emergency support as required
