We are hiring for an Electrical Test Tech in Dallas, TX.

Location: Dallas, TX

As a Electrical Test Technician, your primary responsibility will be to inspect, test, troubleshoot, and perform start-up procedures on electrical systems ranging from low to high voltage (up to 500kV). 
Additionally, you will be involved in moderately complex relay calibration and power metering. 
Our Electrical Test Technician are known for their strong testing and troubleshooting skills and their unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:

-Conduct instrument transformer tests.
-Perform power transformer testing using tools such as Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.
-Test both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays.
-Conduct cable testing, including Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, and DC Hipot.
-Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches.
-Test low, medium, and high voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
-Rotate for emergency on-call duty and respond promptly to customer emergencies.
-Perform RTS or Protest relay testing, oil testing, and infrared scanning.
-Conduct automatic transfer switching and start-up procedures on switchgear up through 500kV class.
-Familiarity with VFD (Variable Frequency Drives) is a plus.
-Demonstrate general PC skills, including email, internet, data entry, and Microsoft Excel; experience with PowerDB is advantageous.
-Exhibit strong verbal and written communication skills.
-Be willing to travel locally and overnight as required.

Qualifications And Competencies:

-High school diploma or GED required.
-An associate degree from an accredited 2-year technical college in Electrical Power or similar experience/training from the military (e.g., Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Seabee) is preferred.
-Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
-NETA Certification (II or III or IV) is highly preferred, or equivalent skills/experience to become NETA Certified.
-Prefer OSHA 30-hour, MSHA, NFPA 70-E, CPR/First Aid/BBP/AED training.
