Job Title: Environmental - Regulatory Technician III
Location: Calgary, AB
Length: 6-Month contract with possible extension
Rotation: Mon-Fri 5/40 or 9/80

Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinates and prepares various government reports with proficiency in agency requirements, rules and regulations concerning oil and gas activities.
  • Schedules, requests, monitors and reports on gas and oil well tests.
  • Ensures Inactive Well compliance.
  • Compiles Regulatory Notice of Non-Compliance and violation resolution; securing various permits, applications and other required regulatory documents to ensure uninterrupted drilling and production operations.
  • Liaisons with agencies on local field regulatory issues and responding to and seeking solutions to inquiries from various internal team members.
  • Communicates effectively with team members, field personnel and agency representatives for the coordination, planning and understanding of agency requirements.
  • Fosters and maintains positive, professional relations with governmental agencies to proactively secure needed approvals, compliance and improve processes.

Required and Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Experienced level, typically 5-7 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Provides more technical/functional support than administrative support.
  • Demonstrated experience working with oil and gas regulations in Alberta and British Columbia
  • Performs varied and more complex tasks. Makes decisions within broad parameters.
