Job Title: Environmental - Regulatory Technician IV
Location: Calgary, AB
Length: 12-Month contract with possible extension
Rotation: Mon-Fri 5/40

Description:

The Alberta (AER) and British Columbia (OGC) collect well drilling, completion, well servicing and abandonment data in order to maintain an accurate record of wellbores in the provinces. This wellbore data is used by the AER/OGC for its own use and by industry to ensure operations are carried out in a safe and efficient manner.

The Wells Regulatory Reporting Technician is responsible for analyzing and reporting the provincial regulatory required data for drilling, completions, well servicing and abandonment operations. This includes:
 
  • Providing a review of the data accuracy of reports in the clients data collection database, Wellview.
  • Collaborate with reservoir, drilling, completions, well servicing and abandonment engineers to resolve data discrepancies.
  • From Wellview, create the operational government reports with the required AER/OGC data.
  • Submission of the operational reports to governments using their online reporting systems.
  • Analyze, update and maintain the clients internal tracking systems.
  • Respond to government related requests.
  • Liaison with the wells team, asset teams, well testing, production accounting, and Wellview groups.
  • Provide knowledge sharing and support on special projects, as required

Requirements:
 
  • Basic knowledge of regulatory (AER, OGC) guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications
 
  • Minimum five years of industry related experience
  • Proficient in AER-DDS & OneStop, Wellview, MS Office programs, Petrinex, Accumap
  • Post-secondary education such as SAIT’s Upstream Petroleum Certificate, would be an asset
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills
  • Good government liaison skills
  • Proactive with a strong team approach, shows good judgement and professionalism
