Our client is seeking an Environmental Advisor for a long-term contract in Kitimat, BC.
Responsibilities:

- Work in a cross-functional team to execute the environmental requirements identified in project permits, management plans and procedures:
- Support and collaborate to ensure a robust permit application.
- Ensure adequate delivery of required verification of compliance
- Advise and assist construction in executing field requirements
- Support the development, implementation and revision of environment monitoring programs, procedures and management plans.
- Assist in fisheries offset and wetland effectiveness monitoring programs, reporting and follow-up.
- During construction, commissioning and start-up phases support implementation of lessons learned, execution assurance and handover from project to asset.
- Coordinate and participate in audit and assurance activities to support verification of environmental data, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement
- Participate in investigations for environmental incidents and support implementation of corrective actions
- Coordinate and oversee consultants completing on-site activities including various field monitoring, wildlife surveys, remediation activities, fish and amphibian salvage, vegetation surveys, etc.
- Present to internal and external stakeholders related to environment and regulatory compliance and mitigations
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills towards building relationships in a dynamic, integrated, diverse/multi-cultural environment
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced project environment.
- Degree related to Environmental Science or Biology or similar background with increased experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience with construction projects and / or environmental monitoring. Commissioning and start-up experience an asset.
- Experience with fisheries, water quality, effluent management, waste, and wildlife
- Working knowledge of Federal and Provincial Environmental Regulatory requirements
- An understanding of key HSSE risks and working safely
