Our client, a global Oil and Gas Operator has an exciting opportunity for Environmental Specialist to join the Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)team. Reporting to HSE Supervisor, this role will be based on Barrow Island (BWI) working a fly in fly out roster of 2:2.

The role will provide environmental leadership & support to:
• Jansz-Io Compression (J-IC) Project BWI Construction Team and;
• J-IC Execution Contractors performing work on Barrow Island as part of the BWI J-IC and Barrow Island Umbilical’s Project (BUP) scopes to ensure execution activities are completed in accordance with environmental regulatory approvals and J-IC Environmental Impact Mitigation Strategies.

Qualifications & Requirements:
• Relevant environmental tertiary qualification
• 10 Years’ experience in resource industry environmental management
• Experience working in the execution phase of a major capital project (MCP)
• Leading HSE audits, inspections, and field assurance verifications to ensure execution contractor compliance with HSE management systems.
• Adherence to environmental management plans (EMPs) and other environmental plans and compliance requirements
• Quarantine Management Systems, fauna handling capability and promotion of environmental awareness
• liaison and communications skills across functions
• Previous experience in building and maintaining positive working relationships with contractors/business partners and internal and external stakeholders
• Well-developed oral and written communication skills and the ability to engage with all levels of the business in a professional and courteous manner and be proficient in the Microsoft suite of applications
• Demonstrated ability to identify and build key relationships that contribute to high-class business results
• Demonstrated commitment to the clients’ values of integrity, partnership and trust and achieving an incident and injury free environment
