Our client, a global EPCI, is currently seeking a Fabrication Engineer for a 12-month contract with options to extend.
Job description:
Reporting functionally to the Project Operations Package/Fabrication Manager. The Project Fabrication Engineer (This Role) shall liaise with Project Operations team and engineering team.
The role will be based at the selected Fabricator (South of Perth Metropolitan area).
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the Fabrication Manager in coordinating specific technical and management topics, i.e. project internal and external interface management, contractual document issue and review, project activity planning, data analysis and report preparation, subcontractor and supplier management, preparing Project Record Books, managing spare parts, collecting certifications, supplier payments, SAP data entry, with specific responsibilities especially during the close-out phase;
- Assist the Project Manager during project activity planning, e.g. in the preparation of the Execution Plans and other project procedures and Plans;
- Assist the Fabrication Manager during project activity planning, e.g. in the preparation of the Execution Plans and other project procedures and Plans;
- Coordinate external and internal interfaces;
- Assist in managing Client relationships;
- Assist in managing Vendors activities (documentation, planning and progress measurement, fabrication activities, QHSE related activities).
- Assist in managing change orders and claims;
- Support Fabrication Manager to coordinate Risk Analysis;
- Ensure materials availability on site;
- Ensure and/or assist in the preparation/issue of the required documents regarding Project Record Books; and
- Assist in coordinating the technical close-out of the project.
Professional Qualifications:
- 10+ yrs. experience in a similar role supporting Offshore / Subsea projects in Australia and Asia. Fabrication management, Subcontractor/supplier management and control. Knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience working in a project environment;
- Strong Microsoft Office skills (Including Microsoft Project) and the ability to learn new systems and tools;
- Planning, Management of Site;
- Experience in TSA coating and CRA welding;
- Excellent verbal and written communications (in English), with very strong attention to detail and the ability to structure thoughts deliberately, logically, and directly;
- High level of initiative, self-drive and enthusiasm to succeed and progress;
- Very good organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines, manage expectations and coordinate priorities; and
- Flexibility
