Our valued client, a large Oil & Gas company are seeking a Facilities Engineer to join their Calgary team on a long-term contract basis.

Role Overview: The Facilities Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of gas plant infrastructure. This position is based in Calgary and involves close collaboration with site operations and the Production Delivery Team. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering expertise to maximize facility performance while prioritizing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Optimize the performance of gas plant equipment including inlet separation units, gas compression systems, amine sweetening units, refrigeration units, and vapour recovery units (VRUs).
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with site operations to implement operational strategies that enhance productivity and profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE regulations and promote a culture of safety among team members.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and optimize resource utilization.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations personnel as needed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligible for registration in Alberta is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in facilities engineering within the oil and gas industry, with specific experience in gas plant operations preferred.
  • Strong understanding of gas processing technologies and equipment.
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across different teams and departments.
