Our Automotive client is recruiting for a Financial Accountant to work on a permanent basis at their office in London (the client does require someone to work in their office 5 days per week)
Responsibilities
This role will provide complex accounting support for the global entities. This will include performing account reconciliations, supporting month and year end closing, and the review of actual accounting data.
The jobholder is also expected to be more widely involved in the financial accounting of the business, supporting the Financial Accounting Manager as required on project and ad-hoc work.
Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports
Support the Financial Accounting Manager with month end closing, including preparation of standard journals and the preparation of information for review
Perform monthly intercompany reconciliations
Ensure monthly balance sheet reconciliations are performed and variances are investigated in a timely manner
Support with Group and local statutory audits
Support with the preparation of data for the annual corporate tax returns
Review accounting processes and practices, and improve where necessary to ensure efficient financial operations
Ad hoc tasks and projects as required by the Financial Accounting Manager
Essential qualifications
Accounting qualification (fully qualified AAT, ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
Experience in financial accounting, including month end closing
Strong experience with SAP or similar ERP system
Good understanding of financial controls
Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem solving Manufacturing or Automotive experience advantageous
