Role: FPSO Materials, Welding & NDE Engineer
Duration: 12 months renewable

Service located at EPCC contractor/subcontractor offices in France for the engineering and procurement phase, then to be located within the premises of the FPSO contractors selected integration yard (China) during the construction period. 

Tasks to be performed
HSE
  • Demonstrate an exemplary behaviour with regards to HSE
  • Implement HSE requirements within the discipline area.
 
Technical Tasks
•                Initially participate in the EPC Engineering phase by reviewing and commenting on engineering deliverables, procurement specifications from a materials/welding/NDE perspective. This includes proactive assurance that EPC Contractor Group consistently implements all contractual requirements into design and specifications.
•                Monitor performance of EPC Contractor, Vendors, Fabricators/Manufacturers & Yard.
•                Missions to fabrication/erection sites as and when required.
•                Shall proactively assure that EPC Contractor Group & Subcontractors consistently and correctly deliver on all contractual requirements within area of responsibility. 
•                Monitor Contractor implementation of Quality Management Systems and Quality Plans related to discipline. 
•                Ensure correct markup of site and vendor ITP’s within area of responsibility.
•                Work closely with QC Personnel ensuring compliance to the acceptance criteria stipulated in ITPs.
•                Monitor correct and timely execution NDE and other activities such as PMI and ferrite testing.
•                Actively participate in on-site and off-site discipline related meetings when required.
•                Proactively identify and report issues within area of responsibility in a timely manner and provide resolution for management consideration.
•                Input to Project Quality & Construction Documents related to discipline.
•                Give sound advice on technical issues and proactively solve issues as they arise in order to protect product quality              and project delivery schedule.
•                Act as Subject matter expert for Materials, Welding & NDE related issues & technical queries.
•                Participate in setting of discipline related KPIs with contractor and sub-contractors.
•                Participate in regular meetings with discipline leads from contractor and sub contractors related to discipline. 
•                Apply reporting structure with contractor in order to identify issues related to quality and project delivery schedule.

Deliverables
The service holder shall :
•                supervise and coordinate the activities related to Materials, Welding & NDE carried out by the EPSCC contractor, focusing on the successful and timely execution of the project.
•                Monitor and report on Contractors and Sub-contractors performance.

Technical Requirements
•                Confirmed Engineer with at least 10 years of experience at same or equivalent position.
•                Bachelor’s or master’s Degree in relevant discipline (Materials or Welding Engineering preferred)
•                EWE/IWE (European/International Welding Engineer) Status or equivalent a +
•                Knowledge of Ship Hull & Topside manufacturing processes and international standards
•                Languages: English mandatory, French is a +
•                Excellent communication skills, dynamism, high motivation, “out-of-the-box” thinking, ability to convince, transverse coordination, organized, leadership and ability to put issues into perspective
