NES Fircroft have partnered with global consultancy firm providing technical engineering services across mining projects in Australia. We are looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join the team based in Brisbane CBD on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Manager of Geotechnical Services, the Geotechnical Engineer will work hand in hand with the Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical support for clients both locally and internationally.

Reporting to the Manager of Geotechnical Services, the Geotechnical Engineer will work hand in hand with the Principal Geotechnical Engineer to provide geotechnical support for clients both locally and internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing geotechnical advice to mining operations, to ensure geotechnical risks are effectively identified, managed and controlled
- Providing geotechnical input into both short & long-term production planning and scheduling processes
- Data analysis, geotechnical design and continuous improvement activities
- Providing guidance to the engineering team responsible for the day to day operations, including open pit or underground assessments when/where required
- A degree in Geotechnical/Mining Engineering is required (essential)
- Prior experience in geotechnical engineering within the resource sector
- Resource industry and site based geotechnical experience
- Experience with slope monitoring radars and site based work
- Capability with geotechnical engineering software (i.e. Vulcan)
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders including management, technical professionals and operational personnel at all levels
- The drive to become a consultant an expert in your field
- Previous track record in building credibility within the local mining industry
- Excellent interpersonal and technical report writing skills
- Strong analytical ability and strategic capability
