Aker Solutions’ New Build segment delivers oil & gas and renewables offshore developments and fabrication products, mainly focused on the Norwegian Continental Shelf and selective international markets. The segment is responsible for large EPCI projects, both within oil and gas and renewables, including business development and project execution, typically large topsides including fixed or floating substructures, onshore facilities, FPSOs offshore wind HVDC topside and jackets, offshore aquaculture floaters and decommissioning and recycling.

Aker Solutions is looking for an HVAC Engineer who have experience in onshore or offshore projects. The project is based in Stord and will be led from there.

This is a 14/21 Day Rotation.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Verify the engineering and vendor documentation and provide feedback to the PRE team on any lack of information or discrepancies.
  • Cooperate with the PRE and PRB teams to ensure that the supplier documentation for HVAC equipment is in accordance with the installation-related documents and drawings.
  • Ensure that the building method is implemented in the HVAC fabrication engineering.
  • Follow up on DCNs (Design Change Notices) and ensure that they are implemented in the work packages.
  • Perform design checks and prepare HVAC work packages for HVAC duct and HVAC equipment.
  • Verify the interfaces with all disciplines (EIT, piping, structure, civil, HVAC, surface protection, etc.), suppliers, subcontractors, production, and planning departments.

Skills and Levels Description:

  • Senior Engineer with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of HVAC, processing facility, science of engineering, building materials, and existing requirements and restrictions is required.
  • The candidate should have extensive knowledge of mechanical equipment (static/rotating) and equipment related to installation.
  • Experience with 3D tools and knowledge of as-built documentation and mechanical interface drawings is necessary.
  • Proficiency in MIPS and Navis Work is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in engineering or higher education from a technical vocational school is preferred, but relevant work experience can compensate for a lack of higher education.
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written Norwegian and English are required.
