What you’ll do
  • Execute end-to-end Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI/PT): pre-clean, apply penetrant, control dwell, remove/extract, dry/develop, inspect under UV-A, interpret/record indications, and disposition per work instructions and specs.

  • Perform visual and basic dimensional inspections; verify conformance using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.

  • Generate and process Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) in the quality system (QSi) and complete all router/traveler paperwork accurately.

  • Interface with Engineering/Order Execution to clarify requirements and recommend improvements to instructions and routing.

  • Maintain FPI process controls and equipment (e.g., daily/weekly system checks, UV intensity checks, developer coverage, equipment TPM).

  • Safely move parts using small overhead/jib cranes and follow all EHS procedures, including proper hazardous-waste handling and spill response.

  • Keep work area organized; support incoming, in-process, and final inspection priorities in a fast-paced shop environment.

What you’ll bring
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • NDT Level II (PT/FPI) certification to NAS-410 or ASNT SNT-TC-1A (or the documented training/experience to achieve Level II shortly after hire).

  • 2–5+ years of FPI on metallic components (hot-gas-path experience—blades, vanes, combustor parts—preferred).

  • Ability to read/interpret drawings, blueprints, specs, and work instructions; strong attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with quality systems (NCRs, travelers) and basic software (MS Office, SAP; QSi a plus).

  • Working knowledge of applicable standards (e.g., ASTM E1417, AMS 2644); basic gage-use proficiency.

  • Ability to operate small cranes and lift up to 50 lbs; pass near-vision & color-vision exams required for NDT.

Nice to have
  • Additional NDT method experience (VT, MT, UT or RT).

  • Gas-turbine manufacturing/repair shop background; aerospace/aviation exposure is a plus.

  • Experience driving continuous improvement (5S, TPM, CAPA) in special-process areas.

Schedule & environment
  • Full-time on-site; 1st or 2nd shift with overtime/weekends as business requires.

  • Industrial shop setting with UV-A exposure and process chemicals; PPE and EHS training provided and enforced.
