Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Instrumentation and Control Engineer to join our dynamic team. As an integral member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining control systems and instrumentation solutions for our industrial processes. Your expertise will contribute to the optimization of our operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality in our products and services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Control System Design: Design, develop, and implement control strategies for various industrial processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of control systems into overall process automation.
  2. Instrumentation Selection: Identify and select appropriate instrumentation devices such as sensors, transmitters, and actuators to accurately measure and control process variables. Consider factors such as accuracy, reliability, and environmental conditions.
  3. System Integration: Able to review Instrumented Protective System testing quality. Generation of new IPS testing procedures. CMMS master data reviews and generation of master data change requests.
  4. Bowtie Risk Assessment: Experience with bowtie risk assessments. Review of actions generated in the bowtie review processes. Review and modification of existing testing procedures and maintenance instructions.
  5. Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing and validation of control systems before deployment. Participate in commissioning activities to ensure systems are correctly installed and perform as intended.
  6. Troubleshooting and Maintenance: Provide technical support for control system-related issues, diagnose malfunctions, and implement corrective actions. Perform routine maintenance to ensure system reliability and performance.
  7. Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including system architecture, design specifications, programming logic, and user manuals. Keep accurate records of changes and updates to control systems.
  8. Safety and Compliance: Ensure control systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations. Implement safety interlocks and emergency shutdown systems to protect personnel, equipment, and the environment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 3-7 years Instrumentation Engineering experience. Proven experience in programming control systems, PLCs, and HMIs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for troubleshooting complex control issues.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and standards relevant to industrial control systems.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with functional safety requirements related to testing IPS systems
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems, specifically SAP
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Familiarity with process industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, chemicals, or utilities.
