Lead Planner

Location: Stone / Hybrid working with regular travel to project sites
NES Fircroft is helping a collaborative company recruit a Lead Planner.
As Lead Planner, you will lead the UK Grid & Power Quality Solutions planning team, ensuring planning resources are allocated and take the lead in ensuring the company resource planning and forecast systems are up to date and data is accurate. You will also take responsibility for a portfolio of projects, ensuring that projects follow internal planning standard procedures.

NES Fircroft is helping a collaborative company recruit a Lead Planner.
As Lead Planner, you will lead the UK Grid & Power Quality Solutions planning team, ensuring planning resources are allocated and take the lead in ensuring the company resource planning and forecast systems are up to date and data is accurate. You will also take responsibility for a portfolio of projects, ensuring that projects follow internal planning standard procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the integrated schedule and cost control performance measurement process
- Lead the team in maintaining standards of planning, acting as key contact with Hub Planning Manager and Project Controls Manager
- Coach and develop other members of the planning team
- Analyse project requirements with the project team, checking that all essential work activities have been identified in sufficient detail to provide realistic project schedules
- Monitor project progress and regularly analyse the programme to ensure all critical path activities and project milestones are progressed according to the plan.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability and confidence for senior audiences.
- Has strong analysis and problem-solving skills to quickly analyses complex situations.
- Proven ability to effectively structure work to handle multiple demands and competing activities; to take control of issues and manage them through resolution.
- Has a passion for customer satisfaction, problem solving and team work.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Project Planning (preferably in T&D or other Power projects)
- Significant experience in an asset intensive industry; specifically, power generation and transmission, utilities, rail transportation, mining, public infrastructure.
- Substantial experience in major projects management within a customer or consulting service.
