Maintenance Planner
Main role purpose:
The post holder develops maintenance plans to deliver the site maintenance strategy ensuring that all legal, Company and SHE standards are maintained.
 
Key responsibilities & accountabilities:
  • Ensure all activities comply with the associated business guidelines and rules. Ensure the safety of all maintenance and contractor personnel.
  • Develop work plans for reactive and routine maintenance activities for both Mechanical and E&I ensuring that the resources (equipment, manpower, materials and information) needed to execute the job are identified.  Ensure plans are in place to facilitate the timely completion of all tasks and that the plant is available to run safely.
  • Provide effective communication to all management, maintenance and operations teams to facilitate a full understanding of the work plans.
  • Liaise with contractors to ensure that the work plans produced are realistic and specified correctly.
  • Monitor the Maintenance work list in SAP. Constantly review the work list and provide input to the overall department planning activity to ensure that the requirements of the system are satisfied. Ensure the timely closure of works orders post-job completion. Validate incoming work orders to allow the Maintenance Manager to structure the future work lists.
  • Identify engineering spares required for the completion of tasks. Ensure items are ordered in a timely manner to ensure their availability at the start of the job. Report delays in the delivery of spares if it will affect the schedule.
  • Review the engineering stores stock holding for the site maintenance activities and control working capital.

Key skills & experience required:
  • HNC/HND equivalent or at least 5 years experience in a mechanical or electrical maintenance function.
  • Mechanical or electrical maintenance skills with good knowledge of maintenance methodology/work process.
  • A good breadth of engineering knowledge is required to be able to support both engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and experience of job planning and resourcing.
  • Working knowledge of standard IT systems – MS Windows, Lotus Notes, MS Excel, T Card and SAP (both transactional and master data preferred).
  • Contractor management - able to talk to vendors and subcontractors regarding EHS and work management issues.
  • Experience of working to standards and codes of compliance.
  • Strong influencing and coaching skills.
