Description:Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the Management Accountant is assigned to the Alaska Business Unit (“BU”) and will provide the BU senior leadership with all information related to volumes, revenues, expenditures and cost controlling for the BU. The position is responsible for reporting and controlling expenditures in compliance with the objectives of annual cost and revenue budgets and company Standards in terms of project and operations cost control.The position will work closely with all BU departments including the Development, Production Operations, and Project Management teams as well as the Drilling and Completions organization.Duration - this role will be covering approximately 6 months of extended leave.Key AccountabilitiesMonitor and partner with the BU to manage expenditures and support decisionmaking across the Business.Monitor contractual terms, production operations, and value of work completedagainst invoices received to determine monthly accruals.Support the preparation and reporting of annual budgets, monthly performancereporting, and tracking against KPIs, and prepare analysis and commentary for
results.Review and updating of cost coding and allocations.Review, analysis, and updating of production operation forecast values.Develop cost controls, operating metrics, and reporting procedures in readiness forfirst oil operationalizationQualifications, Skills & ExperienceFormal QualificationsBachelor’s Degree in finance or businessMBA, CPA, or any relevant cost control certifications would be highly desirableSkills/Technical CompetenciesExcellent oral and written communication skillsStrong problem solving, data modelling, and analytical skillsProficient computer skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook,etc.)Experience working with SAP and Power BI would be desirableExperience5+ years of progressive experience in finance or accountingKnowledge of the upstream oil and gas industry would be preferred ideally fromwithin an exploration and production companyExperience working on oil and gas production operations and major capitalprojects, ideally in a harsh weather or logistically challenging environmentExperience with joint venture and IFRS accounting would be desirable
