Aker Solutions in Oslo are now looking for Materials Engineers to strengthen their team.
Responsibilities and tasks:
- Technical evaluations within materials technology (materials selection, corrosion evaluations and surface protection)
- Implement and maintain the overall materials strategy in the project
- Provide technical input to and follow up procurement packages (mechanical and piping equipment)
- Quality assurance of suppliers and manufacturers including reviews of supplies
- Maintain QA-systems (QA-plans/ITP and procedures)
- Follow-up/witness activities related to manufacturing and fabrication
Required skills and experience:
- MSc or PhD within Materials Technology/Metallurgy
- At least 5 years’ work experience as materials engineer within relevant industries like oil & gas/energy, marine etc.
- Strong knowledge of material standards, materials traceability and certificates requirements
- Good knowledge of surface protection and coating system selection is preferred
- Detailed knowledge of NORSOK standards and international oil & gas-related industry specifications
- Fluency in written and spoken English
