Mechanical & Piping Supervisor

Context
As a member of the site team, the equipment and piping supervisor is primarily responsible for managing the activities involved in assembling pressure vessels, water towers (assembled on site) and skids, as well as assembling piping during the construction and pre-commissioning phase of the site, and assisting during the commissioning phase if necessary. He or she has two key functions: to apply technical expertise and to manage the team in his or her discipline within the project.

Goals and deliverables
With a technical background, you ideally have at least 10 years' successful experience as a piping Supervisor laying industrial equipment and piping. Specific experience in oxygen & hydrogen service piping is mandatory.

GENERAL
Leads and guides construction subcontractors, focusing on safety, quality and planning
Manages interfaces between disciplines on site and between subcontractors
Demonstrates an interdisciplinary mindset, autonomy and honesty
Demonstrates technical experience and leadership
Coordinates with other site supervisors

SITE SUPERVISION
- Monitors the performance of subcontractors in his/her discipline for compliance with engineering/construction documentation and schedule
- Supervises and coordinates assigned personnel (including supplier representatives)
- Coordinates the activities of construction subcontractors through regular meetings, sets deadlines and decides on actions to be taken, takes minutes of meetings.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Evaluates the performance and productivity of subcontractors
- Provides feedback using technical expertise relevant to his/her discipline
- Checks subcontractors' construction equipment and planning their mobilisation/demobilisation

QUALITY CONTROL
- In collaboration with the assembly companies, issues and has validated the inspection plans prior to construction activities.
- In collaboration with the project's QA/QC manager, issues and has validated all the quality documents required for the proper performance of activities.
- Ensures the quality of construction and installation work in accordance with contract requirements
- Is responsible for ensuring that everything relating to the installation of pressure vessels and various skids complies with the project plans and specifications
- Is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the installation of water towers comply with the project plans and specifications
- Is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of piping installation comply with the project plans and specifications.
- Coordinates the resolution of technical issues and problems
- Takes steps to provide missing documents and engineering materials
- Takes corrective and preventive action on non-conformances
- Reports quality defects and pursues their rectification
- Issues construction inspection reports in accordance with the ITP
- Examines subcontractors' documentation and reports. Checks as-built documentation with the subcontractor

PROGRESS AND REPORTING
- Provides reports on quantities, progress and milestone achievement
- Review measures of progress in accordance with the contract and schedule
- Reviews bills of quantities and invoicing statements
- Validates additional work by checking estimated and completed times
- Completes weekly reports, including cost projections to completion
