Our client is a proud wholly Australian owned and operated organisation. They provide a broad range of off-the-shelf and bespoke critical communications systems. With an extensive background locally and internationally, our client can design, manufacture, implement and maintain mission critical communication systems. Following exciting growth plans, they are now seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson to join their team in Perth.

As Mechanical Draftsperson, you will report directly into the Managing Director and be responsible for creating technical drawings to support manufacturing and implementation of communications equipment. This is a critical role to support the existing Engineering team. Key responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Create technical and manufacturing drawings, and 2D and 3D digital models of mechanical equipment designs.
  • Coordinate directly with engineers and project managers to understand project requirements, verify design details, and recommend modifications as needed.
  • Annotate and verify all numerical designations and specifications in technical drawings and schematics, using both CAD programs and manual calculations when necessary.
  • Interpretation of client briefs, architectural and engineering drawings.
This is an important hire to support the growth of their business and deliver on major ADF communication projects. You will ideally have manufacturing experience, with a demonstrable track record contributing to the design and production of bespoke equipment.
  • Cert IV in Engineering Drafting or relevant qualifications and a minimum of 5 years’ drafting experience.
  • Extensive experience in the use of AutoDesk CAD (2D and 3D) and Solidworks drafting software in a mechanical and production environment.
  • Have knowledge of and experience with working to AS1100.
  • Ability to create accurate 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Able to secure Australian Security Clearance.
