Mechanical Fitter

NES Fircroft has partnered with a leading global technology company! We have a very good opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join their motion department team located in Eagle Farm, Brisbane.

Our client offers a wide range of reliable and high efficiency motors and generators to help every industry reach new levels of efficiency and energy savings. This position will report directly to the Workshop Manager and will be responsible to disassemble, reassemble, replace parts & assemblies as well as use measuring equipment accurately for their range of motors.  

Main Accountabilities

• Mechanical Work, Planning and Repair

• Dismantling/reassembling various types of rotating equipment
• Carry out precise detailed mechanical measurements
• Operate balancing machines
• White metal bearing repair  
• Sleeving and re-building bearing housings 
• Operate and maintain lathes and milling machines
• Ability to plan jobs to co-ordinate repair activities and be organized with tools and work methods.
• Recommend changes such as new equipment or modified procedures to improve performance and customer satisfaction.
• Conduct detailed inventories and inspections to determine necessary consumables and tool levels to ensure consistent job completion

Knowledge and skills

• Must have a Mechanical Fitter Trade qualification and have at least 3 years trade experience in a machine workshop
• Ability to operate a manual lathe, milling machine and balancing machine
• Experience in operating various welding machines
• Able to use measuring equipment accurately
• Experience in VA as well as Condition assessment will be highly advantageous
• Able to be flexible and work in a team environment
• Passion for safety, health, and environment
• Passion for quality of work

• Monday to Friday role - 6.00am until 2.30pm - Flexible hours and days available
• Competitive Salary Package with Allowances
• Workshop based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane
• Travel within states (WA) to carry out field service activities as necessary. Covered by the client.
• Onsite parking, kitchen, and shower facilities
