Job Title: Network Analyst
Location: Calgary, AB
Length: 12-month contract
Rotation: Mon-Fri, 8-hour days

The Network Analyst is a key technical resource responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and monitoring all network hardware, software and communication links, while ensuring minimal network downtime.
A Network Analyst will troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues, analyse, and identify performance bottlenecks, recommend optimization opportunities, and support internal users and applications used in our environment while working closely with other IT staff. This will include day-to-day network support, asset management, small projects, and traffic analysis. Responsible for completing and adhering to all processes and procedures and all documentation/tools knowledge regarding the operations.

QUALIFICATIONS: education, professional designations
- Expert skills with Cisco LAN/WAN/VOIP/Wi-Fi technology is a requirement. CCNP level or industry equivalent
- Use software and hardware tools to maintain, install and identify faults on Network Switches, Routers, Controllers, Access points, IP phones, IP consoles and UPS power and other telecommunication systems
- The installation, programming, recording configurations, maintenance, optimization, including back up procedures for Ethernet, Fiber optic, Copper based LAN WAN, wired and wireless networks
- The use of traffic management software, remote access tools and coordination with contractors
- Working knowledge of WAN Acceleration appliances
- Be able to provide Business Unit requirements to the Global Telecommunications team to ensure standards are set that work for Canada
- Excellent problem management and customer-facing skills is a requirement
- Strong documentation and process management skills is a requirement
- Fulfil all duties of the site on-call rota, including but not restricted to, being available for out-of-hours on call work on a periodic basis.
- If requested, travel to field sites to perform support and installation duties.
- Liaise with other members of the Network Services team, on a peer-to-peer basis, with the aim of exchanging knowledge, experience, ideas and keeping the whole team aware of current and pending activities.
