Job Title: Medior Observability Engineer
Unit: Business Technology Organization (BTO)
We are partnering with a leading European transmission system operator, responsible for the development, maintenance, and operation of high-voltage electricity grids across the Netherlands and large parts of Germany. Their work plays a crucial role in the energy transition, ensuring safe and reliable electricity supply for millions of users.
Role Overview: We are looking for an Observability Engineer to join the Business Technology Organization (BTO) team. This team focuses on developing and implementing IT technologies, supporting digital transformation, and fostering a data-driven culture. You will be working within the Infrastructure, Integration & Cloud (IIC) team, managing platforms, databases, and monitoring systems with a focus on automation and self-service.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage observability tooling such as Elastic Stack, Prometheus, and Grafana
  • Develop standard observability blocks for application management
  • Analyze infrastructure and identify key monitoring elements
  • Handle incident management and troubleshooting
  • Automate processes with Python scripts, HELM charts, Ansible playbooks, and Go
  • Manage and update monitoring environments, ensuring stability and upgrades
Your Profile:
  • At least 3 years of experience as an observability engineer
  • Experience with Elastic Stack (preferably Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes clusters and distributed systems (e.g., Elasticsearch, Kafka)
  • Familiar with CI/CD workflows (Jenkins, ArgoCD)
  • Skilled in programming languages like Go and Python
  • Experience with automation and Infrastructure-as-Code (Ansible, Jenkins)
  • Comfortable in Linux server environments
  • Willing to participate in on-call duty (1 in 5 weeks)
