Our client a leading oil & gas operator are hiring an onshore Operations Techncian and Process Operator to join the multiskilled maintenance team in Bacton.

This position is crucial to maintaining, repairing, and operationally testing all trade-related equipment (Electrical, Instrument, Mechanical, Operations) to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the terminal and offshore platforms. The role involves adhering to safety protocols, performing control room operations, and maximizing plant availability for gas processing from offshore fields.

Shift Pattern: 1 Week On, 1 Week Off, 12-Hour Days/Nights

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintenance & Repair:
    • Perform scheduled maintenance activities as per the maintenance management system, with a focus on safety-critical items.
    • Update work order sheets post-task completion to close out tasks and maintain accurate maintenance history records.
    • Act as the Responsible Trade Person, mentoring trainees as necessary.
  • Permit & Inventory Management:
    • Raise, suspend, or cancel permits within agreed timeframes.
    • Manage and maintain an inventory of critical spares and stock equipment to ensure timely maintenance and minimize equipment downtime.
  • Operational Support:
    • Generate new work requests to address plant and equipment failures.
    • Assist with projects, collaborating with vendors and sub-contractors as needed.
    • Ensure effective communication and handovers between shifts and departments.
    • Monitor offshore platforms and coordinate with Gas Coordinators to ensure proper operations, including hydrate inhibition injection.
  • Control Room Operations:
    • Respond to onshore and offshore alarms, informing relevant personnel of any issues.
    • Participate in Operations morning shift meetings and carry out control room operations when designated by the team leader.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    • Adhere to Change Management Policies and employ Perenco Observation Safety Techniques (POST) to report unsafe acts.
    • Take responsibility for waste management tasks related to individual activities at the terminal.
    • Work with team leaders and members to ensure safe day-to-day operations, maintenance, environmental, and security activities at the terminal.
Safety & Environmentally Critical Tasks:
  • Operate various safety-critical systems competently.
  • Undertake specific safety-critical tasks as per company requirements.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience:
  • Essential:
    • Ability to plan and organize work efficiently.
    • Self-motivated and an active team player.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Desirable:
      • Previous experience working as an Operator within the Oil and Gas Industry.
