The position of Operations Readiness and Assurance (OR&A) Lead supports the growth opportunities or projects of the client's assets to:

  • Ensure that both the Project and Asset are fully prepared, ready, and aligned to deliver the Project and Operational requirements.
  • Assure engagement of the asset team and optimal delivery from Project Team to the Asset Team
  • Assure readiness for safe and flawless start-up of the facility.

Key accountabilities of this role

  • Accountable for overall OR&A program in the project resulting in safe and flawless start-up/ramp up of production in line with the production promise.
  • Accountable for ensuring a seamless transition to full Asset ownership and control when the project
  • Moves from Execute to Operate including continuous operations in line with the production commitment.
Main responsibilities of this role:

  • Provide support to ensure activities within the DEFINE and EXECUTE phase includes the requirements of the Operations Readiness Discipline Delivery Plan
  • Develop operations requirements scope for inclusion in Front End Engineering Design (FEED) contract and subsequent Detailed Design and Construction contracts.
  • Provide operations support to studies and activities during FEED and on HSSE activities such as Hazard Operability Analysis (HAZOP), lay out study, As Low as Reasonably Practicable (ALARP) demo, etc.
  • Provide support during pre-commissioning, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT), Site Acceptance Test (SAT) and incorporate findings into relevant processes and/or documentations, e.g., Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Update of Reliability and Availability model and specify Operational requirements.
  • Co-ordinate reviews of Basis for Design (BFD) and Invitation to Tender (ITT) for FEED and EXECUTE phase to validate inclusion of operations requirements.
  • Perform Operations Readiness Review
  • Handover of all Permits and Consents to Operations team
  • Develop Operational Expenditure (OPEX) forecast to support value engineering and business planning cycle.

  • Represents Operations in the growth projects of the client
  • Simplification of Operations Readiness & Assurance Control Points such that it is tailor fitted to the Project Context and Environment


  • Engineering Degree or equivalent higher technical qualification.
  • Seasoned (+15 years) technical or operations professionals with a background in either of production / maintenance operations, asset management and/or project supervision (e.g., commissioning) with demonstrable experience in the areas of interest for the job.
  • Working experience on part of, or the entire, Project life cycle (from conceptual design through to final commissioning and handover) and/or in the frontline oil and gas production operations is desirable.
  • Sound knowledge and working experience in delivering OR&A objectives would be an advantage.
  • Experienced in offshore and/or onshore operations and/or project experience is preferred.
  • Previous project experience within an OR&A role is desired.
  • A detailed knowledge of hydrocarbon processing & gas treatment. Experience of subsea production systems, sour service facilities, methanol recovery & hydrocarbon custody transfer would be advantageous.

  • Proficient communicator and able to engage with audiences at many levels on technical and management issues.
  • Competent to lead or participate in complex studies or processes with other disciplines.
  • Recognizes the value of diversity and can manage the sensitivities of a diverse workforce.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic individual with self-motivation & ability to achieve stated objectives.
  • In addition, experience of working in a multicultural environment would be an advantage.
  • Capable of leading change in expectations & culture
